Post Change your own oil
I'm not a huge fan of letting other people touch my stuff (lets just say I've gotten my bumper f'd up by the dealership during a warranty checkup and was exposed to Tuberculosis in a hospital at the age of 3, for example). So why have someone do work on your car when you can do it yourself? You can go as far as doing engine and transmission replacements by hand, but on today's more complex cars that might be left to the experts. I'm talking about oil changes and tire rotations, the tasks that usually run you between 20 and 50 dollars (unless someone requires you to take it in to maintain your warranty, like Costco tires) and can put your possessions and vehicle at risk.

Change your own oil! (but dispose of your old oil appropriately and use synthetic oil to replace it)

Rotate your own tires!

Because if you don't, someone else will.

The only thing to consider with the second one is that if you get your tires at Costco it *could* void your warranty. Just a disclaimer.
