Post Love/hate
So I've been in a bit of a sticky situation lately. When my parent's 10 year old desktop died over winter break, we decided that the best course of action would be for them to inherit my awesome 4 year old 15inch macbook pro and that I would get an early graduation present of a 13 inch macbook pro just as soon as apple updates. Yeah, so that was supposed to happen in January. Granted I have only been without my mac laptop for a week, it has still been rather traumatizing. (I've lost sleep, I'm not going to lie).

In the mean time I've taken a bit of a trip down to SD to setup home for graduate school. But I need to get work done and I don't have a laptop! Luckily my lab has recently purchased a laptop to handle my software (quad core i7 processor and 8gb of ram). While this thing is a nasty behemoth Dell (17inches in size 3 inches thick and pretty damn heavy) and the build quality is atrocious, it is the first full sized non-mac laptop I've done serious work on in a while. And because I'm jonesing so much for a laptop, I think I'm going through a little Stockholm Syndrome. I think it bothers me that I am as beholden to Apple as I am for my computer buying needs. I don't even need as perfect of a laptop as Apple provides, but no one even comes close to providing the performance/formfactor/battery life ratio that apple does. Its very disappointing.

Handle: Taenon
