I know the idea might not have incredibly broad appeal, but given more space I think it would be a delightful hobby. Like having millions of little pets to feed and water that pull their own weight at the end of the day. While the techniques and equipment aren't something I'm going to start this thread with, in the spirit of open source food, here is an article on recreating corporate recipes:
